March 22nd, 2010 – John at the Kenton County
Ladies Republican Club:
The spirit of the
Lord just overtook me tonight with my hometown crowd in Kenton County. While
most of these citizens were not aware I had even entered the race I was really
feeling glad to have the opportunity to speak to them about the message which
the Lord had given me to present. I knew that the group would have a mixed bag
of feelings about the passage of the Health Care Legislation. I tried to speak
to them from my heart. I have known some these citizens for over forty years so
it is hard to speak to them as a first time candidate running for the United
States Senate as a Republican. I have always run as a Democrat for the other
races I had been a part of the Democrat Party for over fifty years. Even though
I changed to be a Republican eleven years ago I have not run for office as a
Republican until this year. I talked with them about my reasons to change
parties.
